Yes. we believe that Jesus Christ is alive and present with us, when we gather together in his name. We accept that who we call Christ and meet in Worship is the same Christ who was Jesus of Nazareth. Actually our name "Friends" comes from the Gospel of John 15:14-15 and signifies the fact that as true Christians we seek to follow Jesus in all things. Furthermore as Quakers we tremble at the Word of God.

After WWII there were some Quakers in Thessaloniki helping the Greeks. In 1976 there was a Liberal Quaker Meeting in the University of Athens. Today (1999)  there is a Universalist Friend retired missionary in Greece but there is no more information on that.

Of course we do. George Fox Himself used them and quoted from them.

In 1996 Themistoklis Papaioannou had leadings from God to read the "Journal of George Fox". After reading it he got convinced and asked Christ for leading. Christ taught Him directly that Communion and Baptism are of the Spirit and He led him to His people called Quakers. In 1998 Themistoklis Papaioannou becomes an affiliate member of "Ohio Yearly Meeting" (Conservative) and with the help of Elias Papaiannis who was convinced in the beginning by his testimony started this outreach which is a continuation of "Evangelical Truth" an outreach that both the above started in 1994 sending the Holy Scriptures out free of charge.

We accept the main doctrines of Christianity. We differ mainly in: We do not have communion with bread and wine nor baptism with water. We believe in the spiritual reality of the Lord's Super (Rev.3:20) and in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Mat.3:11) We are peacemakers and pacifists and don't take oaths.

In short we do not have paid ministers and we don't have programmed worship as the Evangelical Friends have and we do not accept Liberal Theology or Universalism as the Liberal friends do.

That Jesus Christ is the Word of God. He teaches His people as they wait in silent worship. Christ saves from the power of sin. One must follow the Light of Christ within and study the Holy Scripture under the leading of Christ. All our Testimonies flow from our relationship to Christ.

Conservative Friends known also as Wilburites, resulted from the separation among Orthodox Friends in the U.S.A. in 1837. John Wilbur, a Rhode Island Quaker, while not denouncing the authority of the Holy Scriptures and its teachings, felt that Gurney's (the Evangelical Quaker preacher) preaching substituted a creed for the immediate revelation of the Light of Christ within. Conservative Friends believe in silent waiting worship before God, in expectation that Christ Jesus will instruct and move the faithful to speak or pray or sing without program or ritual.
